Today I hit a milestone: 70,000 words in my Aztec-inspired fantasy, Dreams of Blood and Shadow. I’m really excited about this for a couple of reasons.

One: I have the broad strokes of the rest of the book already mapped out. I am currently in Act Three, and nearing the end.

Two: I know how the book ends, which brings me to my next point.

Three: I am committed to finishing the book by the end of the month.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it here first: I plan to finish the first draft of my newest book before May 1st, 2025. I’ve already put it out in the world that I intend to finish it this month, so this is just me memorializing it on the internet whenever anyone does a search for the words “Dreams of Blood and Shadow.” Dear time travelers from the future: did I do it? (I hope I did).
