Well, I’ve found a new toy. A few days ago I was turned on to an incredible project called MidjourneyAI by a friend of mine who works in VFX, and I was floored at what it could do. Not only did it generate amazing digital art, but it did so in a matter of minutes. Now someone like me, who has no artistic talent, has access to a powerful new tool that gives life to my imagination.

Now, after countless hours of fiddling with it, I’m starting to get the hang of it — though I would rate myself as just above “newbie,” and below “newbie with a decent grasp on generating AI art.”

Today I was doing some writing, and thought I had written a particularly interesting sentence (“The last time she had been here, she died”) and thought, what if I put that in as a prompt? Well, it worked — kind of. While the four options were admittedly cool, they didn’t quite convey what I was looking for, so I did some tweaking. Here are my favorites:
