March wrap-up

Happy April, everyone! I hope you survived your March, and, like me, eagerly await the coming of April. I’m particularly excited about April for a few reasons:

1. I’m going on tour!

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram or subscribe to my newsletter, you might not be aware, but I am going to be hitting a few cities for book signings and book fests. I added a few stops since the last post, so here they are again so you don’t miss them:

  • April 26-27: Springs Book Bash (Colorado Springs)
  • May 4: Woollybear Books (Carnegie, PA)
  • May 17: Blyth Books (Pittsburgh, PA)
  • June 21: Bookish Boutique (Panama City FL)
  • June 28: Charleston Bookfest (Charleston SC)

The bookfests are both ticketed events so you’ll have to go to their websites to get them (Linked in the description above).

2. Dreams of Blood and Shadow update

I had a really productive March and managed to crank out about 25,000 words, putting my total word count to just over 56,000.

March has been my most productive month yet on this book, and I am extremely happy with how easily the words and story have been coming to me. All three of my books in the Highglade Series were around 125,000 (Gift of the Shaper was about 120k, Awaken the Three was about 130k, and Days of the Dark was about 140k), but I don’t expect this one to be quite as long. For starters, there are only two “main” storylines, and 3 POV characters. This is in start contrast to the numerous POV characters in the Highglade Series, and gods know how many storylines.

I am aiming to have the first draft done by the end of the year and this should be a very attainable goal. If you’re interested in becoming a Beta Reader, signing up for my newsletter is the best way to get in on the ground level, as I’ll be sending out invitations there first!

That’s all for now. Thanks for stopping by — and let me know what you think in the comments!
