Some of you may have heard me talking about my current work in progress, an Aztec-inspired fantasy that I’m calling “Dreams of Blood and Shadow,” and I am so excited about it. I wanted to take just a little bit of time and try to sell you on it. Tell me what you think in the comments!
An exiled general. A runaway slave. A dream that could topple an empire.
When Tenoc, war chief of Azatlán, has a dream that threatens the emperor, he is exiled by a man he once trusted — only to cross paths with a mysterious woman named Alatha, one of the god-touched: a human with the blood of long-dead gods in her veins. As they are pursued across the empire, a god-touched gladiator in the fighting pits of Azatlán, Inte’kunda, catches the eye of the emperor himself, only to find herself caught up in events that threaten not just her life, but the lives of her people as well. They all find their fates intertwined as whispers of a new power rise and threaten to upend the world, in dreams of blood and shadow.
